Why do some parents think everything they get for their baby has to match?

I mean the furniture should match. I’m talking about people who want the bedroom theme to match the gear (swing, stroller, walker, etc.) It’s not like the baby cares. It’s nice for everything to match; it’s just not always reality. Like, I found a complete room set, but it doesn’t have gear that matches and I found a set of gear that matches that I’m going to get. I just don’t get why some people flip out if everything doesn’t match.
I didn’t say everyone did it.

Because it’s their first baby and they want to bring them into a perfect world. So their bedroom, gear, etc have to belong. Every parent wants the best for their child, and some just are a little more obsessive compulsive than others. There is nothing wrong with it, just a different way to go about things and show their love.
for me its half the fun i am pregnant with my first child and i couldn’t be happier or more excited i’m not that far along yet so i haven’t done any shopping but i can’t wait to take my mom and a couple of girl friends and go crazy
That’s a pretty stereotypical question– of course, a lot of first-time parents are excited about their new arrival, and so they want to make things as wonderful as possible for their little one. My sister-in-law did matching because it conincided with her guest room, which doubled as her nursery. Every piece of furniture that I have in my nursery is mismatched, I even bought a used dresser and refurbished it. So, firstly, not everyone does this, and secondly, what the heck is wrong with it?
I don’t see whats wrong with that. When looking around the living room it’s nice to see things orderly and not random crap everywhere. Personally, only my swing and jumpero matched. and car seat and stroller set matched.
I’ve never really thought about it, but I have a friend who had all Winnie the Pooh gear and her bedroom stuff was Winnie the Pooh too (she had a little boy)! IDK if she planned it that way, but that’s how it worked out! She also really likes Winnie the Pooh because it’s gender neutral and she doesn’t wanna have to buy everything again if she ever has a girl!!
Lets get a bit more accurate here paige…..lol
Its not the PARENTS that need matching furniture. Its just one of the parents (I don’t want to get sexist here, so I will leave the rest unsaid). Although, you seem to be an exception.
