When did you start setting up the baby's room???

Right now I am alittle over 18 weeks pregnant… and I guess I am wondering when did or when is everyone putting there baby’s room together??? How far along were you???
I’ve bought a few things here and there, but not tons of stuff. But I find out in about 2 weeks what we are having… Today we cleaned out the room (removed everything) and washed walls and vacuumed. And we were considering buying all the furniture… within the next week. Then once we find out what we are having my hubby will paint the room, and we will pick the bedding set "theme". So it won’t be "completely" done anytime soon, but it will at least have all the furniture in it… and the room will be painted…
Well, I wanted to do something cause I hadn’t really bought much for the baby up to this point. So we figured we’d start the room. I’m not in a hurry to get the whole room done… but I wanted to get some stuff out of the way.
Well, I have to buy the furniture soon… because it "just" came back in stock… and I don’t want it to go out of stock again… and then I am stuck waiting on it.
Thank you for all the advice, I really appreciate it.

I would hold off on buying things that you might get from a baby shower.
I think it’s wise to wait to find out the baby’s gender. (Our babys umbilical cord was in the way so we still at 37 weeks do not know what we’re having)
But, in the event you do find out what you’re having. I would hold off on washing as many items as you can before the baby comes. Because the lab tech’s are only about 70% accurate. This way if what comes out is opposite to what you have… then you can return the unwashed items.
It also really depends on how long the furniture you pick out will come in. It only took our crib 1 week. And from the moment I found out I was pregnant to when the crib we picked out arrived. I had changed my mind at least once. Some bedding/color/themes I think look better with different styles and colors of furniture. So I would, again, hold off until you know the gender and general theme you go in.
Good luck with everything and in the next few weeks you’ll start to feel the baby move around with is exciting!
It’s easier if you do it little by little. I started as soon as I bought the crib. Congratulations!
I have as A$$ load of things in the room for the baby, but I need to wash walls, floor, windows, and hang valances before we set up the crib. I haven’t even started. 18w1d today.
well i’m 23 weeks and haven’t started…but thats because we might be moving…so i don’t want to do ne thing till i know…and we rent….
but i don’t think u can ever start to early!!!
I started at about 26 weeks….with painting that is then i started decorating and buying the crib etc at about 30-32 weeks…its better to start early and that way your not rushed.
goodness! i feel left behind!!! lol
im 7 1/2 months along and we just barely painted our baby’s nursery!!! jeje but we still have a good 10 weeks (+) if it all goes well. so no rush for me.
if you have the room there, do it whenever you like.
Im 21 weeks and I still dont have anything haha!! Its normal for a mother to "nest" so if your aching to do it…do it!!
congrats!!
With my first pregnancy (twins), we started getting things ready around 12 weeks. We bought a double stroller, built 2 cribs and a changing table, car seats, lots of cute outfits, etc, and had a pretty well-stocked nursery very early. Unfortunately, I had some serious complications around 24 weeks and we ended up delivering at 25 weeks (one stillborn and one who lived only 10 days). After that, I was really sorry we had started preparing so early, because now every time I pass that room it’s heartbreaking. I am now 26 weeks with my 2nd pregnancy (a singleton boy) and although everything is checking out fine and I have just been "graduated" to low-risk, we are still nervous to get things ready too soon. I know the odds of this happening to you are very low, but I still recommend that you don’t get too much ready until the 3rd trimester, just because it’s SO SO painful if you have to look at it all if you lose the baby.
I haven’t got a thing yet and honestly haven’t even thought of it (17w, 5d).
I’ve been too busy buying X-mas gifts for my other 3 kids since I’m due so close to the holiday. You got me thinking though – - I should at least pick a crib up soon – gotta find a way to fit in with the other 2 cribs already in the nursery!
I already have the crib together and put in the room and i’m 23vvks. I already had the crib though from my daughter vvho is novv 2. I just found out 3vvks ago that vve are having another little girl so i’m starting to decorate and get things set up i’m just doing a little bit at time. i’d rather be prepared then unprepared. You can pretty much start setting things up vvhenever you are vvanting to. My friends are throvving me a baby shovver in sept vvhen i’m 32vvks pregnant so i’ll have alot more things then but I plan on having everything completely ready by the time i’m 36vvks, that vvay I dont have to vvorry about doing it later and i can relax and be ready for vvhen the baby comes, I had both of my other children early at 38vvks so you never knovv vvhen you baby vvill decide to come.
i am almost 20 weeks pregnant, and we have a lot of stuff in the room,. although we are missing the crib and big things so its not set up. once we get the crib, i will start setting it up. i always think the sooner the better because then you will realize what things you still need. congrats

hi there you can do that as soon as you want but i would not buy the furnature until the babies room is painted good luck and god bless
I was 6 months before I started cleaning and painting my baby’s room.
well since ur going to find out the gender soon
then i would wait until u find out the gender to do painting and stuff, but other than that u can start doing the room anytime u want. some ppl do it during the second trimester and others do it a couple weeks before their due. it doesnt really matter all that much when u do it but buying stuff here and there is a good start cuz it helps with ideas. hope i helped!
