What do you think about black furniture for little girl?

My little girl is 5 years old and I am pregnant. I want to use her old furniture for the baby, b/c it converts from crib to bed, and get her new furniture. I have a brand new furniture set in the spare room, which will be the nursery. The furniture is a black sleigh bed, night stand, and dresser. Would black furniture be weird for a 5 year old girl? Is it too masculine? Should I just get her something more girly and sell the black? I think it would look pretty in her room b/c her walls are bright pink. Suggestions?

I HAD a pink, white and black room. It was beautiful. The walls were light pink and I had black and white furniture. With enough light colored things in there, it will look really good and add contrast. In my room I also had prints of Paris and the Eiffel tower. These colors are really pretty with French stuff. Especially if she is a girly girl, this will look cute. Also, keep in mind, she may outgrow a new set and want to paint it BLACK when she gets older anyway. It’s a teenage thing, be warned!
Keep in mind kids too are honest and she will probably tell you what she does and doesn’t like. I would just try the black and see how it works. If she hates it you can always buy a new set later. If she likes it you will save some money. Kids at this age are usually too young to give it much thought anyway. If you show her a pretty picture of a room with similar black furniture, she’s probably love the idea! Best of luck to you, your daughter and your new baby! I hope this helps!
I bet she would love it, get her bedding and window treatments in bright colors. Buy her some removable decals and she will be able to decorate her furniture(cheap : D) herself. She will not only have a pretty bedroom but she gets to tell everyone she helped decorate it herself.
Yeah In my opinion I think black is way too masculine for a little girl. But I do not think that everything needs to be pink for girls blue for boys. You are really smart to just keep using the crib, etc for your newborn instead of buying new (that’s what my husband and I plan to do) but perhaps you can look into like a green and then the decor can be other colors maybe yellows or etc. But yes, black can be a bit of a sad color. Hope this helped and God bless!
Just add flashy white, and make sure somewhere in there is pattern, like stripes, dots or checks, and you’ve got young and hip. Remember, ice cream chairs had traditionally B&W striped seats.
If you are talking a sophisticated look, just make sure the patterns are there somewhere because that brings the ageless attraction into the picture. There are hanging baby mobiles on the market because babies are attracted to the strong contrast and the pattern. Splashes of color, you can then throw in anywhere.
AT 5yrs old she won’t care, save ur money and wait till she gets much older and then u & her can pick out furniture together. Also maybe the second baby will be a boy. Any way I got furniture that I liked and my daughter when older never liked it, and frequently said she wish I bought cheap furniture, so she could get what she liked in her teens.
I think if you use pinks and whites with it and a sparkly chandelier, it can be very dramatic and fancy- yet fun. Go for it!
i was going to suggest a bright pink with the black, so you are on the right track. She won’t be little for long, start working on a fun zebra theme that can change as she grows

or fun colorful polka dots

or a fun paris theme

If she doesn’t mind the black, then involve her with a little of the decorating to make it fun for her
All the best to you and your little ones.
